Japan Magazines

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone knows the names of some of the magazines in Japan. I know of some like Option and the other "general" magazines. I'm looking for ones specific to the EVO. I know I saw one when I was there last October and I think it was called EVO. Can anyone clarify this for me?

I'm having some brought over for me in August. I might also get some videos. I already bought the first 4 Best Motoring dvds and some Option videos. Anyone know if there are any new BM dvds or any other dvds? Anyone know if the JGTC vids are available on dvd also?

Thanks for your help.

There is a magazine in Japan based entirely on Evo's. It is called LancerEvolution magaine. It is bi-monthly.

And yes EVO is a UK magazine. An Evo7rs sprint is one of their test cars.

That mag should be LancerEVO, you can find them in Japanese bookstore in LA's little tokyo, I've got couple issues. And of course, you can get the three HyperRev EVO edition and various Options issues...

Other Japanese Car mag: Carboy, Young Version, Option 1, 2 (there should be option 3 as well)

The Hond Kong Mag you're refering should be "option fans" and another Taiwanese mag with "option" name

There are Option 1, 2 and 3 in Japan, my friend

Thanks for the info everyone.

I think I'll ask for the LancerEVO magazine to be brought over. I see the Option magazine at Tower Records and my friend gets it every time from the local Japanese store so I'll just leech off of him.

Anyone know about videos? If anyone hasn't seen the Best Motoring vid of the Impreza & Lancer comparison, it's definitely worth checking out.

Try to get your hands on some "Option" video which devoted to a single model in one vid. My friend has this Evo Series with him...for like 2-3 tapes, I think you should be able to get them in DVD format...not sure though

bi-monthly = twice a month AND every two months, so you may wanna see which it is first.

From Dictionary.com:
bi·month·ly Pronunciation Key (b-mnthl)
adj.
1. Happening every two months.
2. Happening twice a month; semimonthly.
English is such a great (read: awful) language.

Exclamation BM Videos

PorkRinds: There is new BEST MOTORING VIDEO that is coming out. It is the Volume 5 version and it will in the DVD format.

The Lancer vs. Impreza video was in Volume 2 if I'm not mistaken.

I have the first 4 and the Impreza vs. Lancer is vol 4. Vol 1 is Super Battle in Suzuka, vol 2 is the NSX, and vol 3 is the skyline gt-r. I bought these dvds in Japan last October. Maybe they have different volume #'s by you?

I just requested a couple issues of LancerEVO earlier this week so I'll get them in a couple weeks. My coworker is Japanese and his wife is coming over here in August.

tanders: I see you are in Manila. My sister lives in Makati and about half of my other relatives are spread out over there in the PI. You drive your EVO in the floods?!?

Exclamation

PorkRinds: Hi. Your Best Motoring Videos are different from what we sell. What we sell is the International Edition (dubbed in english) which are the same as the ones available for the US Market in the VHS format. Ours are: Vol. 1 is featuring the NSX-R and all Type Rs. Vol. 2 is M3 vs. JDMs. Vol. 3 is featuring Porsche 996 Turbo Vs. Nismo Skyline. Vol. 4 is Battle of the VTECs. And the newly released Vol. 5 is the Lancer vs. Impreza.

They must have produced different versions for the US / International market.

LancerEVO magazines are nice! I want the HyperREV edition.

For the whole week last week, I was using a Ford Expedition to tackle the floods. However, I saw one Evo5 tackling knee-high floodwaters going opposite direction as I am. I don't know if he stalled his car or not.
