Hey guys im installing ym ebay short shifter tomo. What all do i need to buy to install it? What lube should i get and could i get it from somewhre like lowes? Also and if oyu have any tips for the install they are appreciated bc im just going to look at it and try and figure it out.

it should tell you in the instructions.....what brand SS did you get off of ebay?

 

the best/easiest lube to use is plain old cheap *** white lithium grease.

 

i used a white lithium grease as sdhotwn said....

 

can i buy this grease at lowes or home depot?

the SS came with no instrucion bc it was a generic one of ebay like streetcustoms that everybody has talked a lot about bu ti payed $10 less than if i had gotten it from streetcustoms.

 

Any hardware store should carry lithium grease. I got mine at CrappyTire.

 

ok the install went fine, but i dont have a shift knob. i knew the stock one didnt fit so i bought this one off ebay that is this gunmetla color like the ring around the shifter and that has the numbers glow red like the gauges. i was happy bc the thing only cost $22 on ebay, but yeah when it came it the kind that doesnt screw on to the shifter but instead has to have screws to tighten it on to the shifter. so after 5 mins of driving it of course comes loose and then breaks the power wire to the glowing numbers and then even the lights on my ac controls and cig lighter go out. my friend did the wiring but im assuming that the knob wire was put in series with the ac controls and cig lighter, that sound right? now i need to spend some more money on a shifter ad this time ill know not to be cheap and to ask about it.

ive only drived it alittle (to the stinkin FL?KY bball game last night ). i couldnt really tell bc i was shifting without a shiftknob which kind of hurts your hand. man i need to get a new knob.
