It's probably the placebo affect to be honest. Depending on where you mount the PB you can hear the vacuum inside the PB box. It's a whining/spinning sound, which might be what you are hearing as well.

Great to here. I have been monitoring this thread. Overall everything is positive. That is what I like to here considering all the work we put into this project.

yup. i reset the ecu again and decided to start over making sure all i had was 91 octane, before it had 1/2 89 and 1/2 91.

So sometimes when i start the car it will stall, then i have to wait and start it again.

Hopefully this will go away in a couple days.

Well my car died for the first time with the ECU. I was on a trip to Niagara Falls for the weekend and I stalled out on the bridge crossing in. The idle was so bad I decided to disconnect the PB so I wouldn't have to deal with it any more. I'm seriously considering not reconnecting it and contacting RRM to see if I can return it. I've gone through two tanks of gas and the idle problem has not gone away.

Is there going to be a problem changing octane ratings? When I started I was using 93 octane, then I put in 91 octance fuel because the station I went to had 87, 89, 91, and 93 and wanted way too much for the 93. Also it seems like those with a CAI are having better results. I'm also wondering if the Tap connectors might be a problem with the signal going to the PB. Since these only tap into the stock wires is there a chance that the signal isn't going through the T connectors to the PB? Any input Rob?

I just spoke with Rob over the phone and it looks like the issue might be the cold a$$ weather. It makes sense too since air is more dense when it's really cold, and leaning out the fuel too much around idle would get the ECU and PB confused about what mixture to use. I didn't notice the problem as much with the 93 octane because that will burn more efficiently at colder temps while the 91 would give me more problems, which it did.

It also makes sense that RRM would not have forseen or testing this because hey, when was the last time it was below 40 degrees where they are? RRM is going to work through this with me. I'm going to send it back tomorrow or the next day and have them reprogram it and we'll take it from there. Thanks Rob.

The only problems we have seen with this item is 10 Piggys -1 INSTALL GOOF UP, and guys in near "0 degree" weather having idle issues. We do have a game plan for that though. As for everyone else well they think it is the best $400 they have spent yet!

Don't be jealous but Feb is our coldest month, I was freezing my A$$ off. It was 60 degrees today.

Review as promised

First off the car runs great. I went to the track tonight and 3rd gear is much more potent than before. My results here : https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...threadid=65700

The shifts have smoothened out and the PB has been installed now for 1 week 3 days. I did not drive it hard until the 3rd day and then that was only atfer putting 30 miles or so on the PB. I broke it in by running it up to 3500 rpm for those first 3days.

I don't know if it has more to learn but it definitely feels better now that when I complained about some slight hesitation however the air is cooler now too so that is supposed to give me a few extra horses. I did change from 93 to 91 octane also and although there were a few idle fluctuations with that change, the end result has been better than originally experienced.

Anyway, I was dissappointed with my times at the track tonight but that could be a result of the cheap tires I put on. I still had traction problems.

Mods to date include.
RRM PB
RPW headers
B&M short shifter
performance muffler
eibach springs.

NO idea on HP figures but the car feels a hell of a lot faster than stock. The engine was a lot quieter today too after my oil change.

PM if you have any questions.

OK FIRST AUTO POST SO GET READY

my car seemed to be normal. i noticed no real difference. the idle was lumpy as heck. then suddenly while doing the 20 min drive the idle was fine. i press he gas a lil and whooooo hooooooo. it went. it went with a lil gain. not the gain i was expecting but a gain none the less. currently i am kinda not sure if it was worth the money. i called rrm and gabe said to give it a day or to. one thing i did notice that makes me want to keep it is the fast as heck shifts, and how fast it revs up when i floor it doing 50. i have 60 miles on it right now and the idle is pretty good, reverse needs some work but otherwise its fine. ok i lied i am gonna keep it cuz of the rpm and shift speed. the gains for me were most noticable from about 0-65000 rpms lol

so far so good i do hope it get s better.

I'd say the sooner the better. It has to learn, wether it's 4 or 40 outside. It's going to be funky for a little bit in any contition.

Well I finally got the chance to take mine out this weekend to send back to RRM. It's still going to be cold as hell here for a while, so might as well take it out and send it back to RRM so they can richen the mix at idle. Hopefully this will be the last time I'll have to send it back.
