2013 Lancer GT or Lancer ES?

okay guys i need your help. This stupid dealer put me in a very sticky situation.

i have a choice of either a 2013 Lancer ES for $378/month for 72 months with no down and a 2013 Lancer GT for $425/month for 72 months also no down.
This is my only 2 choices. like i said im in a sticky situation.

I really wanted to know is the GT really worth the extra $47 dollars a month for the long run?

THANKS AGAIN <3

Depends on your financial situation. If you feel that you can afford the extra $47, than (IMO) yes, the GT is worth the extra money. Especially for one such as yourself, coming from an '05 RA, the GT has a 2.4 pushing 168 hp. I used to drive an 06 RA and recently picked up a used '11 GTS. The car is awesome and is every bit as fun to drive as my old RA, with the exception of CVT instead of manual, which is always more fun. (The paddle shifters are fun to play with.)

That said, unless you absolutely need a new car right now, you should probably save up a bit of a down payment. As you can imagine, it will only help lower your monthly payments.

I just got my '13 GTS, fun little car, especially since I upgraded from an '03 OZ. Going from 120 to 170hp is quite the leap . I put down 5K and my payment (extended warranty included) is $265. Definitely makes things less stressful, especially since that 5K was saved specifically for car related things.

tl;dr: unsure what your sticky situation is, but if you can swing the extra 47 a month, do it. You're already paying that much for a car, might as well get the one you want.

And like Beardly said, if you can save up for a down payment, do it. I couldnt imagine how stressful another 200 on my monthly car payment would be.

I agree with the guys, get the GT for more power and exterior looks. If you don't care about the power difference and was planning to modify the exterior a whole lot(body kits and rims) then I'd say get the ES. I'll be honest with you, I WOULD not buy either, the ES will cost you over $27K and the GT will cost over $30K. A bit too high to me.

Well the sticky situation was that the dealer originally gave us the 2013 lancer gt. but one of there salesman put the wrong sticker on the windshield, so technically, we were getting the gt at the price of the new se. All paper works signed, and took the car home, not knowing the problem until they told us 3 days after. When my mom was dropping off the pink slip at the dealer (we traded in an old Toyota) they told her the situation, the new car is under her name. So the stupid dealer literally forced my mom to pick a car, keep the gt for 425 a month, the se for 400 a month or the es for 378 a month. I was at work at this time so I wasn't there with her. My mom called me at work, and told me the situation, I was really pissed off, so I just told her to tell them to cancel the whole deal off, and ill drop off the car. Stupid dealer wouldn't let her leave! Literally holding her hostage. My mom is an extremely shy woman, the salesman kept telling her that she already signed the first paperwork so she has to pick. My mom picked the es, so she can leave. And here I am stuck in this situation.

Ps sorry for the long paragraph, I am writing this via iPhone at work.

Tell the dealership all the paperwork has been signed and is thus legally binding. The fact they made a mistake is irrelevant; they had plenty of opportunities to catch it but did not. That's their problem, not yours. If they want to play hard ball, contact a lawyer.

A little update. What actually happened was the paperwork I signed, was for the lancer se, I was tricked into signing it, thinking that I'm getting the gt. I was so excited on getting the car that I just quick red the contract before signing it. I don't know if I have legal rights to this. I might try and call lawyer to see if I can patch things up.

The error seems to be the mistake by putting the incorrect sticker on the windshield. Even though you signed paperwork for an se, they knew you were interested in the GT, and that that was was the car you had intended to purchase. To save their own reputation, they should be a little more wiling to work something out.

Always read before you sign. Your signature binds you to a contract.

This sounds like too much of a s*** show for them to have intentionally planned this out. They probably had no idea what they were doing and you probably didn't read everything quite like you were supposed to. I never saw this happen at any dealership I ever worked at, I think you need to sit down with the owner/manager of the dealership, not your salesperson, and set this straight.

Yes the GT is worth it... You get the ralli art front and you have AWD as with the es is the base model and youre running what everyone else has... but then again the GT is a bit harder to find parts for such as exhaust and etc.
