Yes, I have heard and i know the bad news of several things and i know that the american lancer has been degraded a lot. I see it as a chance to work on the car. I am looking for other people who have bought the american lancers. I own an oz myself, and am already starting to work on it, i found new rims that i need to gather money for, and already purchased street glow and a new in dash deck. If anyone has sites or knows about aftermarket products for us american lancers, please post or im me, ObsoleteAsian is my AIM name. I am looking for anything to upgrade the HP. My goal is to make it just as good as the evos.
Current Upgrades:
Yellow Under body StreetGlow. (purchased)
Two Streetglow 15 " under dash (purchased)
Clarion DXZ615 CD Player (purchased)
Window Tint (not done yet)
2 12" Fosgate Subs (not purchased)
17 or 18" OZ F1 Rims Polished with yellow writing (not purchased)
Amplifier (undecided)
DirectHit Ignition (will be released by end of year)

Well ... just to clarify, the Lancer has not really been de-tuned. The Lancer and the Lancer EVO are 2 very different cars. And in order to make the Oz Rally Lancer "just as good as the EVOs" you'd first need to convert it to AWD ...
Obsoleteasian, you can add your car to our registry where you can list your mods and upload any pics of it as well. Here's the link:

I'm assuming you mean that you want to get your car to a state where it will delight you to a similar amount an EVO might and that your objective is not to make these two Lancers identical because that would entail considerable downtime/headaches and not to mention highly impractical/expensive.
I imagine you'd need to stiffen the frame of your car as well to mimic the EVO... personally I wouldn't even know how to begin doing that or where to get that done?!
With the right mods you may end up enjoying your car a great deal but IMO what separates EVO's, WRX's and GTR's from ordinary cars is the AWD drivetrain... it's the first thing I think of anyway... others may be different.
Good luck man and keep us updated!

not the WRX...remember? the beauty of all wheel drive, subaru puts awd in everything
obsoluteazn, the lancer is totally different from the evolution
if u played gran turismo 1/2 both cars are there
lancer has BEEN in the US, just w/ a diff name, it was known as "mirage"
