Lancer Miles Per Gallon [MERGED]
Here's a zipfile of my mpg tracker spreadsheet. Unless the '03s changed gear ratios or engine stats, I don't see how there's going to be a difference from the '02s.

diesel_fan. wow. that's all i gotta say. you must have some time on your hands. my friends make fun of me for writing in a notepad the date, miles, gallons, cost, and gas station. but your spreadsheet could be more detailed, you could keep track (using both tripmeters) exactly how much city/highway driving you do. i say get on it.
God no. I think creating the spreadsheet demonstrates that I've got enough stats recording for now. Just wait til I start running oil analysis numbers, then people will know that I've completely lost it .
On a lighter note...I track it since it lets me know if my mpg starts taking a nosedive or if it starts a downward progression. Lets me know if things like the sparkplugs are getting cruddy, or if Denso iridiums make a difference.
Not all work and no fun, I'm waiting for my RMR strut brace to come in

i go about 280-300 miles on full tank, and is mainly city drivin..here it's 1.47 for the cheapest gas around...premium is like 1.70...and it's low....considering what it used to e a couple months ago
wow thats some expensive gas. i paid 1.25 on like moday or sunday. its like 1.27 when i went by yesterdsay. of course that at the "non american" no name gas station, at like exxon and mobil its like 1.33 or so.
nationwide average as of monday was 1.41 per gallon for regular. (here in co regular is 85 octane)
If you use anything else your wasting money, notice the thing on the fuel door about regular gas only??? No benefit from the higher octane cars unless you have extensive mods, nothin bolt on mind you

2003's are mechanically identical. There's really no difference.
As for hating OPEC...be happy our gas prices are so low compared to worldwide prices. I'm not saying you should wanna hug OPEC, but appreciate the fact that you can actually afford to own and daily drive a car.
EDIT: Also if you run a search about octanes and search through you'll see a little more meat to what's behind Pimpson's statement. Unless you're boosted or have advanced your timing, you're just spending more for the same with higher than regular octanes.

Suffice to say that my fuel savings versus the Montero will probably cover my monthly payment on the O-Z!
