Misfiring System?

I heard about something called a misfiring system used in Lancer Evolution WRC cars...I heard it was used specifically in the LanEvo 3, not sure about the others...I was just wondering what exactly this was, and how it worked. Any information would be appreciated. Also, do you guys know anything about the Toyota Celica GT4 ST205? That car is perfect... =) Thanks everyone

You're referring to an anti-lag system. Not just used on Evo rally cars. A quick search on the internet gave many information pages; this is a good one http://www.rallycars.com/Cars/bangbang.html

where did you get the idea that Evo 3's are meant to have em? I think you've been watching too much initial d. MOST rally cars have em.

All the wrc cars have anti-lag.Has been around for years,cosworths seem to have the loudest systems on there cars.You can get them on street cars if you buy aftermarket ECUs like Motec or Gems but in the UK they are illegal to use on public roads.You also will need alot of money if you run a street car with antilag.Turbos won`t last much more than 3000 miles and exhaust systems even less.

Yeah, i tend to think someone has been watching Initial-D 3rd Stage a bit to much. With tearsm like "LanEvo", "misfire system", and references to the ST205 Celica GT-4.

Misfire = anitlag.

Its actually changed alot since that article on rallycars.com was written.

there wasa HUDGE thread on teh i-club way back in teh day from john Felsted talking about antilag, and how it workd in corispondace with a waste gate, and how BOV's where useless in an antilag setup.

I still ahve a log of it somewhere, if anyone is interested i can probibly send it to you to read. Preaty informative stuff.

Oh yeah...anyone miss me?
