Please Answer Me This Question.. 2014 Lancer SE

Is my car breaking? 7,000miles. Young and babied.. BUT.. this car has major engine braking (like a manual transmission) when i let off the gas... Is this normal for my automatic Lancer SE? I feel like it is a safety feature or maybe because it is AWD. IDK... can someone tell me if it is normal?

Was it normal when you bought it?

Not as bad. But kinda. Hard to tell considering it's my girls car. But I drove it recently and noticed it engine breaking like my 14 Evo GSR. But her car is a freaking automatic. So im confused.. maybe the AWD?

My mom has a '14 Rallliart and it does that. In sport mode, it's like it just wants to sit and growl if you don't give it gas. It's different than any other car I've driven.

My buddies' 12 Lancer SE does not really do it, though. Kinda...

Do Lancers here have INVECS ?
If they do, then it's normal. Also though, it would only be doing that if that's how the car is driven since it's an adaptive system that changes very quickly to how the car is being driven, within minutes.

My mom's Ralliart seems to be in a low gear constantly, like it's just waiting to rip off the line and doesn't want to get caught flat-footed. I don't think my Evo GSR could beat it, 0-40. That CVT is so quick. Her Ralliart jus seems like it has a lot more horse than what it is supposed to have. That is gearing, I suppose.

Ralliarts have TC-SST transmission not a CVT. And all of the newer Lancers (08+) have Invecs III.
