Performance Data:
Acceleration (0-60 mph): 9.5 sec. <---taken from the Parts Page with its info taken from the website.
Those nine extra ponies are more than offset by the 200 or so extra pounds the Lancer has over the Mirage. Yet the Lancer still managed to outsprint the Mirage, thanks to a nine-percent-shorter final-drive ratio. The Mirage wheezed to 60 mph in 9.4 seconds while the Lancer bests that time by a half-second. <---Then there's this taken from Car and Driver and all that gobbledeegook translates to an 8.9 0-60 time.

http://www.lancerforums.com/forums/a....php?forumid=9 <---Why bother when the Evo would probably end up being cheaper.

turbo kits not good, for a engine that wasnt design to handle one, and the base lancer engine wont handle one for long. and as for that engine swap guide, dont need that. it worked on my old dodge colt 4 door like a charm, and cheap too. shouldnt be a problem for the new lancer. everything is all good

well when u figure that i probably like most people will replace pretty much everything with performance part the turbo won't be too much as a matter a fact i think that when i get my car ready for the turbo i will b able to fine one big enough, the block is gonna b all that is left of the original engine

M'kay.
Serious, though, there is no reason this engine couldn't handle about 6 psi of boost stock.. and if we can trade out some of the hardcore components from the mirages (valve springs for one, any and all other kinds of **** that would reinforce the engine), then the boost could SAFELY and reasonably be increased. I'd trust a well tuned turbo on this engine over some of the factory turbos on the market today.
