OZ Spoiler Install (holes needed to be drilled)
OZ Spoiler Install (holes needed to be drilled)
where eXactly do I need to drill the holes in my trunklid to fit a factory OZ spoiler on my stock ES? Ive searched with no luck already.
Mine came with some setscrews that you put into the holes POINT DOWN and then put on your trunk. With a little luck, and a friend pushing on the other side, you'll make some small scratches where you need to drill.
Nope, didn't work for me, either.
You can make a paper template. Put the spoiler on the trunk. Take a sheet of printer paper for each end and the middle and lay the sheets under the spoiler. Adjust the spoiler so it's where you want it to be. Now trace the outline of the ends, and center, on the paper using something like a dry erase marker (in case you get some on the spoiler, it'll rub right off) Mark where the edge of the trunk is on the two end pieces.
Take the spoiler off and line your templates up with the ends and center (this is why you used a heavy marker) poke holes where the holes in the spoiler are.
Use some painters tape (or something with almost NO adhesive to it) and line your edge markers up with the edge again. To get the middle, leave the paper edge templates and put the center drawing on the trunk, spoiler on that, and line everything up again. Tape the center drawing to the trunk. now you can centerpunch and drill your holes for the whole thing.
That's how I did mine My body guy thought I'd been cheating on him when he saw the job I'd done. It took about an hour.
Oh, and I got my spoiler at SpoilerDepot.com for $219 shipped and colormatched!!
