Angry Our Car Sucks For Performance!!!

That title should get me a few readers.
I am pissed beyond belief. I could buy another car for $4100, or i could buy a turbo for my lancer. The other car would be a late 80's early 90's rx7 that ran 14's or my lancer will run high 15's. HMMMMM.......

Someone tell me why i have spent soo much freakin cash on this car. Honestly the internals are not like a honda, i can't boost it like crazy when its stock. THE FASTEST ONE AROUND RUNS A MEAR 13.8!!! Crazy fast??? NO not really a 13.8 is average for any performance car. Low 13's are where its at. Not to mention how much boe has spent or how much he has put into the car. Its rediculous for us to think that the lancer will ever be any more than a 4 door tank with maybe a shot of nitro. SOMEONE CONVINCE ME why i should get a turbo and not another car. HECK for 1000 bucks i can buy an 89 mr2 that is in GREAT condition. that car isn't supercharged but it runs a 15 like the lancer would. Plus i would have the other 3 grand to dump into that.

Lets say i turbo the lancer. to get any real boost i need some new pistons and rods, so i spend 1500 just on parts on those plus install so i spend 2grand on that so what now i can boost another 3 psi?? so now my car has added about (7+3=10psi) 100hp!!! I am supposed to be happy with this?? This is all a load of crap. honda civics have way cheaper parts, WAY CHEAPER. Someone get back to me on this when you can explain why its remotely economical to keep messing with a lancer.

Dude... it's not about being the fastest car, it's about HOW MUCH IMPROVEMENT over stock u can make. I.E. Anyone can take an old school american muscle which does low 12's all day and get it into the 9's barely breaking the bank... But it takes skill and investment to get a 17 second car down to 13's or 12's

When you start crunching numbers (i.e. hp gains per dollar), things don't look too good. What I recommend is doing what YOU enjoy...

Yep, if I had wanted a fast car, I would not have chosen a 4 door econobox. And I see one of these threads about once every month. I chose the Lancer because I needed reliability. Of course, I have fun with it, but I never expected some 1/4 mile king, it's just fun to drive hard around corners. If you want somethign that's fast, sell your Lancer and buy the RX7. If you want to blow down the 1/4 mile in less than 10 seconds, get a Nova gut it out and drop in a 454 or a blown 350.

frankly your a [explicative deleted] for buying a lancer without researching all of this first. If you wanted to tune the car you should have looked around to see what the car can do. I call if poor planning on your part and the fastest lancer right now is in the mid 12's.

Sell your car and buy a civic. please.

dude, it seems to me you already made up you're mind in what you wanna do so you dont need us to try and "convince" you to keep you're car. sell it and get a 93Rx7... just be willing to take it to the shop ever month or so.

Dude, why did you buy a OZ Lancer if you wanted speed? You should have got a turbo car then.

If I wanted something fast, I would have bought an EVO. If I wanted a quarter mile king, I would have bought a old muscle car. I needed a car that was going to be dependable, get good gas mileage, and be fun to drive on the back roads. That is why I got my Lancer. I knew what I was getting when I bought it. It took almost 3 months and several test drives of different cars before I made my mind up. I think there is good aftermarket for our cars. Granted it not like the Honda's but I think it is better quality wise. I prefer quality over quanity. If you are that unhappy with your Lancer sell it. Otherwise buy the mods that you want for it and have fun kicking some *** with it.

it's kinda funny when people complain about what they have after they bought it. if your intentions on buying a car was to run low 13's on the 1/4 mile track, you should've researched it. buying a car is a big thing, you just don't go to the dealership and say i'll get this one. reasearch first, then buy.

i bought my lancer because i've always like the evolution. but since i can't afford an evo, i settled for it's "mini-me" version.

I bought an Evo 5 as my daily driver. It was reliable, great quality, and I could run 12s. All in one package. That motor is bullet proof. You want a fast reliable car, should have gotten an Evo.
