your thinking of another league. our cars aren't ment for quarter miles n s*. they are ment for rallying. but cornering is where our cars are good at. you can buy a honda, you can buy an rx7 but they won't come close to our cars cause everyone has done it already with a honda or rx7 or what not. you cant be different cause someone already has done it with those cars. thats where we come in, with lancers and evo's, to prove to the import scene that our cars are as good or even better than other cars. the lancer is new here, so give it time to shine. road race is pavin the lancer for us n comn out with tight s* that will make our lil monsters roar.

you jus some spoiled kid. least you dont have a hoopty. if you don't like your car, then sell it, and have someone else appreciate the fine work of mitsubishi's engineering.

Hey, I have a '92 civic with 145k miles on it. It's fast.. the owner before me put a vtec sticker on it, so you know it's stupidfast. And I have duct tape holding up the front bumper for aerodynamic stability. I'll trade ya.

 

If you really want a car thats just about speed, you can always go and buy yourself a real classy pontiac sunfire or chevy cavalier. 140hp for like 12k canadian new. Im sure a car like that will be real dependable.

The point I think you're missing, is, the Lancer is an economy car. Did you buy it to go fast or because it was cheap? I bought my Evo because I wanted a hard edged, no frills, no bull**** fast car. The G35 and 350z I had my eye on were definitely "pimp" for a 23 year old, but not what I wanted. If I was in the market for a cheap car, I'd have bought an OZ. If I had the money, I'd have bought a Z06. Its all about what you can afford and what you want to do with it.

 

add some stickers to ur lancer .... that will add 1-100000 hp mentally since u want a fast car

 

I actually have to disagree with you on that. The Lancer was meant for getting the kids to school and the groceries home. Then they added some suspension goodies to make poor teenagers like us who can't afford a real sportscar want it. The Evo was meant for rallies, the Lancer is, well, like racing a Ford Escort (anyone who has seen my autocross posts knows what I'm talking about. WILL KALMAN rocks the econoboxes! )

 

even though it had a short career, the RMR 2WD lancer won the scca pro-rally woodner cup with only a claimed 145hp. of course they had a kick *** suspension and drivetrain most of us won't replicate as well as a good driver. it sucks that RMR took down all the pictures and stats on their site.

but we're not RMR, so mines just a grocery getter.

 

Yeah, what I meant is that you can't rally a bone stock Lancer. You can throw a roll cage in an Evo and race it as is. A Lancer needs some suspension goodies and such. I want to see how that Mirage does at Rim next weekend.

That actually doesn't surprise me. Nothing against teenagers, but you have to expect at least some of them to be like that. I'm just trying to ignore the comments that didn't need to be made. But if enough of you think it would be a good idea, we can boot this off to OT or trash threads. Just say the word.
