Quiet Exhaust

I want to upgrade my exhaust but the last thing I want to do is grab attention from any cop. I used to drive a Honda Civic HB and it had the lowdest exhaust ever. I always had to shift up to fifth gear even if I was going 20mph. Im wondering is there any exhaust I can buy that will give me power gains but keep my car sounding like stock?

Sure, there are tons of applications for our Lancer. I have the RRM axel-back and it's quiet unless I go full throttle, then it growls like a beast. The thing you want to stay away from is generic "one size fits all" mufflers (fart cans). RMR has a really good exhaust, but if I could buy it I would go for the Greddy cat back that RRM sells. It's quiet when you at low RPM's and it offers great performance.

bump, i need an exhaust with no sound at all. maybe a custom exhaust with an evo tip or something. i really dont want any sound at all. and i agree with the generic muffler comment. dont ever get generic mufflers for everyones sake.

Well my carbon TI HKS exhaust sounds great...Not too loud unless you go full throtle, but in no way shape or form will it sound stock at any RPM level. You will get a high quality exhaust that exerts a nice deep tone...Once I added the downpipe and cat delete pipe it really came alive, great power gains, a bit louder though, but nice sounding non the less.

i'm going out tomorrow to get price quotes for a custom cat back system at a local performance shop(using magnaflow muffler). would a magnaflow catback yield the same results/sound? i too am looking for a "sleeper" exhaust

I just put on the Magnaflow, and I chose it for the same reason as you, I wanted something that doesn't attract attention. I listened to Vince's (GuruDel) first, and I loved it. It's quite mellow in the lower RPMs, and not too loud in the higher RPMs either, yet offers a better performance, a deep sexy growl, and looks nice. You're not too far from us, you should come to an So Cal Lancer Club some time and listen to our exausts. We have members with Greddy, Magnaflow, RRM axle-back, and other custom ones. Great way to hear them side by side.

Urban what is the model number of the magnaflow muffler you put on or did you buy the complete cat back?

The greddy catbacks are carb exempt right? Are the magnaflows?

I agree with looks, performance, and sound of the Magnaflow muffler. I currently have the Buschur Racing setup with 2.5 piping from cat-back and Magnaflow muffler. All I can say is SWEEET!
