Air ducting?

OK, reading a recent post has made me wonder - if I want more air to go to my SRI, which would be more effective? Custom air flow like Urbanknight, or the RRM hood scoop?

Thoughts, comments, opinions?

But the ducting would keep my "sleeper" status!

Plus, I'm not sure if I want to attack my hood...

No, I just meant that I'm apprehensive about putting holes in my car.

jaime (who had the hood duct) told me that the scoop doesnt follow the curvature of the hood and causes it to bend a little inwards. also i dont know if you would want to put a hood scoop on your car when it isnt even turboed. wait are you talking about the small one that is shaped kind of like a tear drop or the larger square shaped one? my previous statements applied to the larger square one.

Mike - either version, really. Basically, I want to know if the flow of air is better from the hose or a hood vent. I would assume the hose (as it would be concentrated), but I'm not too smart.

the hose is concentrated but the goes through too many bends. the scoop is directly in place of the filter, so it is totally more concentrated.

Do both... then you're getting mad air to the SRI!

The only problem I see with the scoop is you have a better change of getting it soaked with water - like, durring a bad storm (if you drive the lancer in the rain) and / or when washing your car. The only way to keep it dry when washing would be to cover it up everytime with a plastic bag or something. Seems like a lot of work, but it would be worth it to me

Dad - swiped the pic from Urbanknight. PM him to ask.

I think any size ducting would work (within reason - don't use a straw!). Air flow is air flow.
