magnaflow catback(pics and vid)
i threw in my magnaflow catback yesterday. installation was pretty easy, but kids: make sure you eat your wheaties for breakfast. those nuts wouldn't come off without a fight
but besides rusted nuts and bolts, everything fit perfectly. the kit was pretty nice, although i expected at least a new gasket(had to reuse all old hardware). not a big deal, and probably cut down on price too.
onto the pics(click for bigger ones):
and now onto the videos i made. someone asked what it sounded like, so heres a little preview. sorry the quality isn't so great.
Drive by 1mb
Rev 6mb
picked mine up at performance peddler for 305 shipped with the group buy(awesome service, quick shipping). i'd definately recommend it to anyone who is a bit timid about installing their own catback. i've never been under a car before, but this was cake to me. just pick up some jack stands and your golden.

Whoa.. looks good, sounds good. Where did you order it from? It came with all the piping, all ready to be installed? right? How was the fittment?
Oh, and same question as Sonantoni: were you able to adjust it so it'd be centered in the bumper notch? How hard was it?
thanks!

well, i got the kit from the group buy here. its from performance peddler. i'd suggest you email him or hit him up on aim(sn: performanceped) and ask how you go about getting the discount or any other questions you might have.
the fitting was pretty much perfect. i didn't have any issues with clearance or it rubbing on something. everything fit together perfectly. it comes with all the pipes and clamps you need. it doesn't come with a new gasket, so keep your old one(the one in between the cats and the long pipe with the resonator on it). you'll also have to use all your old hardware(hangers, nuts, etc) so hold onto them.
the one thing it did not come with is an extra nut for the rear hanger. basically the welded piece on the stock muffler was threaded, on the magnaflow it was not. luckily i had some bolts and nuts lying around so i found a replacement. you might want to take a look at it ahead of time and run to your hardware store so you'll have the spares on hand.
i'll center it today, i completely overlooked that. all it involves it adjusting the hangers to its centered, so its not too hard.
as far as noise, i honestly can't even hear it inside the car unless i open it up or if i'm on the freeway(you can hear a slight difference over stock). but as you can see, if your outside the car, its nice and low

I have been hearing alot of good things about this exhaust but from the sound clip it seems rather loud to me. I can't imagine what it would sound like with my headers on top of that.
Is it just recorded loud? or what?
