I'd WAY rather have my OZ than an integra.. lots of mods, check roadracemotorsports.com to start with.

Road Race does make a lot of aftermarket products for the OZ. You can also do a Ralliart engine swap, I'm thinking of doing that for the update/backdate rule in autocross. But honestly, if it's purely for a performance standpoint, I'd get an Integra. Less expensive parts, as long as you do your homework on them. But I love my Lancer for its versatility and how fun it is to drive and wouldn't trade it for anything right now.

You have to look at a few things like stock performance, ability to upgrade, styling...stuff like that. The LS is faster than the OZ and has way more options to upgrade, but the power added by those upgrades are a lot less on a teg then a lancer. For a grand you can add a good 12-15 horses on a lancer with headers, cat-back, and intake. Then it becomes actually pretty fast. Everyone will be surprised and if you do go up against anyone then you could hold a chance at beating them, atleast you will get them off the line. The lancers are some of the quickest cars off the line. As for styling, do you want a 2-door sports car that lacks power or do you want a 4 door that can still haul people around yet look good doing it, it also has OZ-rims stock which are light and you will spend 800-1000 to find some that light with tires. Just look at what you want and you will fond out what you want to do. Here are some websites for lancer parts.
www.buschurracing.com www.roadracemotorsports.com www.visionimports.com www.RPW.com.au www.ptuning.com www.optionsauto.com
styling - www.body-kit.com www.importtrenz.com www.visracing.com www.spoilers.com
a little bit off all but call them cause they don't list a lot www.nopionline.com

Too much right now. Wait a few years and get one out of a rear end wreck. Or wait a few more years when they offer rebuilt long blocks.

Honestly I'd save your money and get a lancer ES, not an OZ. If you are really going to work on it, you'd probably replace half the extra stuff the OZ gets over the ES anyway.

^ very true. Here's what an OZ has over the ES:

- rims (who wants 15s anyway?)
- body kit (if you like show, you want a different kit anyway. if you like go, any kit is just extra weight)
- rear sway bar (you're gonna want a bigger one)
- badges (You might want to shave them)
- shift knob (big deal)
- guages (this is the only one that seems nice, but that's all you have left on a car that costs $1500 more)

additional plus for the ES: same bolt pattern as the Civic gives you tons of rim choices.

Geez! That's more than the Chevy 350 TPI. And you'd still have to swap ECUs as well. I'll wait for a junkyard swap when I need an engine rebuild anyway.
