As I have posted many many times. IMO it is the best intake for the Lancer. I had the AEM CAI and now I am getting the K&N. The Dyno Sheets speak for themselves.

if you are planning on getting a turbo you wont be using that intake anymore.. unless you have the money to spend it probably isnt worth it... you could just get a mas adapter and a cone filter if you really wanna hear the noise the engine makes under stress and rpms

If you are thinking. "But Danno, I heat that a CAI is better then a SRI." then think again. wan't proof?

AEM CAI

K&N SRI

Now look at these. Yes AEM has the greatest tourque and HP gains overall. But look where the gains are. How long do you drive in that portion of the gear.

AEM CAI
3500 RPM is right at the begining of your next shift which is good but what happens after that. It drops below stock for almost 1000 RMP. It also drops below stock off the line.

K&N SRI
It never drops below stock and is a consistant gain all the way through the power band. Sure peek gain isnt as much but when your in the power band above 4000 RPM you have the CAI beat.

If you want a short ram pretty much all of them are basically the same, a mas adapter and a filter. Some have heat shields, metal piping etc. while others don't but its really not a big deal. Your gonna see like 4hp difference between them. K&N is a good intake though. My brother has one on his corolla and hes always liked it.

Just finised installing the K&N Typhoon Intake last night. It's good stuff. But I wouldn't recommend installing the pipe that came with it. You're only asking for less power . After I reved the engine, it decrease the power then slowly climb back up. almost to the point where it want to stall the engine. I end up putting back the stock pipe, and man was I excited. turbo spooled quicker and the noise is much more audible. Still need to play around with my Greddy BOV a little.

Good luck!!!

evolcion he has a lancer es and you have a evo. the two are totally different. i have read a lot of posts about the k&n on evo's and it seems that they have a lot of problems with losing pwer, but for the regular lancer it works great, i know cause i have one. try to keep the apples with the apples, and the oranges with the oranges.

get it, but like the evo guy said, use the stock pipe. I used my stock pipe instead of the one that came with my intake and the rumble is louder and the engine feels much better in the RPM band of 3k - 6krpm.
