Hi I am really new to cars , but I just got a 2004 mitsubishi lancer es for my first car
not that great but the only thing that's bothering me is the trunk-lid , I like the 2003
version where the back is straight and label's L A N C E R , while the 2004 version has lancer on the bottom left corner and is dented in in the middle , so.... I was wondering
if there is any way I could get a new trunk? cost? or is that a different edition then the
es? sorry I am really new , thanks in advance , here are the pictures of the back trunks-lids

you might be able to have on custom made, but a 2002-2003 trunk will not fit on a 2004+

 

look at the shape totally different. You dont really have a choice your guna have to stcik with what ya got.

 

only choice would be to get it shaved off, and relocate to the bumper

 

You're gonna need the bumper to go with that trunk lid (for licence plate purposes). I strongly feel that the surfaces of the tail lights on the 04+ model isn't gonna line up well with an 02-03 trunklid. Get a good look at the photos.

 

wow, I really never even paid that much attention to the trunk of the 04 compared to the 03. I don't know if you can do a whole lot with that because the taillights are differently aligned and it has rounded edges. Also the license plate is in the middle. Hopefully someone will come out with a CF trunk for you. Just wait a little while. I know RRM has the CF hood, maybe this summer the trunk will come out. Maybe if you email VIS, they would consider making one if enough people email them.

you might as well have it shaved (sanded down, bondoed up, repainted) and then have the bumper cut and bondoed too. seems like alot of work, but i definatly think its worth it. i HATE the new lancer look.
