Request: Rotor removal
i'm sure there is a thread on here somewhere with this info. here are the shop pic's though. air tools are not necessary. when i do brakes, i don't use air tools. i prefer a nice 1/2in socket wrench. the first shop pic if for removing stricly rotors. the other (w/red arrows inserted) shows the other 2 bolts you'd need to remove in order to change the pads. i'd recommend doing it all at the same time....sorry my writing isn't to informative(i'm having a rough night).....just follow the steps in order from 1 up. IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE WITH YOUR MECHANICAL SKILLS DO NOT DO BRAKES ALONE YOUR FIRST TIME!!! MAKE SURE A PERSON WITH EXPERIENCE HELPS YOU!!! i can't stress this enough. if you need written instructions and can't follow the diagram-->let me know. i'll do a write up with pics.

oh thanks a lot i think i understand it. gotta reach the two bolts holding the rotor on from the inside of the wheel area then huh. can i reach it with a torgue wrench? just wondering cus it seems like a small area...
there isn't any real need for a torque wrench. a socket wrench will do you just fine. if you prefer a torque wrench, you'd be able to get it in there. the long handle makes it frustrating though. some people can fit an impact gun in there...mine is to large. it's really not a hard job to do though. good luck. PM me if you need anything else or have any questions.

thanks for the write up. It said something about cleaning the rotors with brakleen?? is this really necessary since im getting brand new rotors? if i need to do it, should i put the rotor on the hub then spray it with brakleen or spray it first and then put it on the hub?

theres no reason to do that if the rotors are brand new. just make sure you wipe them off with a clean rag to ensure no grease or gunk is on them...that way you can ensure better braking and proper break in period.
