Replacing Hood Latch Cable

Alright so my cable that goes from the inside of the car to the hood latch that opens the hood when you pull it from the inside broke. So now I just ordered a new one from the dealership and I'll be replacing it when it gets here. The question is how do I run it from the engine bay to the inside of the car? Do I go through the fenders, if so would it require me to remove them? Or do I go through the firewall? Also does anyone know how the cable is actually connected to the hood latch so I'll know how to connect it when the time comes? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

ok here it goes...
the cable runs from the release handle thru the driver fender, out next to the headlight, then across the radiator support to the release...There is a boot you can see if you remove the splash guard on the drivers side fender well. You have to run the cable thru the boot again, then to the hood latch. Dunno whether or not the release mechanism is connected to the cable or not but you can find that out when you get the cable in...

Also did you try to repair the broken cable??? If the cable itself is broken you may be able to get some steel cable twist then soldier/glue/clamp/whatever them together to reconnect it. Guarantee itll be a whole lot cheaper...
