cutting the headliner?

hey everyone
i need to run a wire from my rearview mirror to my cigar plug...and i want to run it under the headliner except its really snug with the windshield....

i dont want it crushing the wire or cutting it...

anyone have any ideas on how to cut a piece of the headliner...or would it be better if i drilled thru it

anyone done this before?

How about you take the necessary area off and route it that way.

i did do that...only problem is that when i put everything back...my headliner crimps the power cable...and the last thing i need is

A) my electrical shorting
(and/or)
B) my undercover strobe being cut up

like the cable doesn't fit alone between the windshield and the headliner

Perhaps your headliner is different from my Evo's but I suspect not. I'm not sure why you're having problems with at least routing the wire along the edge of the headliner. I have what is essentially phone cord routing along the edge over to the driver's a-pillar where it then goes underneath and down to the fuse panel and it's not noticeable. I just pulled the edge of the headliner slightly and tucked the wire there.

Of course maybe I'm misunderstanding your issue or you're using a gauge of wire beyond what I would imagine up there.

thats what i did...took off the trim on the pillar and the headliner...ran the cable in there...but the edge of the headliner is up tight against the windshield and i cant bend it back by hand...it is very rigid
