How To: Painting the middle of the front bumper
Dont paint it! use vinyl, looks stock and ten time better, plus it will never chip or get damaged. its simply by far the best option, plus if you ever want to restore the car to it original look you just peel it off, no fuss no bother, your bumper will be back to normal and even better because the vinyl would have protected the original paint. on top of all that you have more options, i would recommend mate or satin black it looks great on the lancers, but theirs also some new carbonfiber3 which looks really realistic and could look great too, theirs gloss black and metalic black, and all the colors practically.
for me paint aint even in the equation, vinyl is the way to go.
you can check all this vinyls out, including the carbonfiber3 at: rvinyl.com

Its already been done lol. I love it though and it holds up better than the stock paint. Its moe durable than i thought it was going to be and its much easier to keep clean. Plasti-dip is basically a rubber paint. The contrast between the matt color plasti-dip and the stock paint is great. I'll get you some pictures up soon.
I'd like to do mine as well, but here in ontario, weather has been so ****ty. It's been raining for the last week! Ok i'm getting fed up, can someone tell me if i can paint in my garage when its raining outside? Will the humidity affect my paint job at all?
Just a little alternative that I'd like to put out there...instead of painting the bumper you can also use plasti dip which is also reversible. Looks really good. Alot of the guys in kno from the 9glancers community use the plasti dip method. Just thought I'd put in my two cents for those who might be interested.

im trying to find dupli-color flat black bumper paint but all the stores i went to only have a bumper coating paint. its flat black but will it work? i went to o rielly and also advanced auto parts and wal mart hoping they would have them somewhere but no luck, where did everyone get the bumper paint or would the coating paint work? please help!
See if you can get Plasti-dip.. the only prepwork that you have to do is clean the area with soap and water then try.. apply 8-12 coats depending on how thick you are putting it and allow time to dry between coats.
grey doesn't really work i don't think.. if you can do more of a gunmetal grey, MAYBE.. but the flat black should look ok on your tarmac black as well..
Regards.
