Hey everyone,

I've read all 11 pages of this discussion and seems to me that going the vinyl route (for me) would be the best way. I like the fact that you have the option of going back although I wish I had the skill (and patience) to do it the right way. But I guess for now I will go with the vinyl.

My question is: Is the flat black good enough or would a greyish tone be better? I've been looking at the Evolution X front bumper and it seems to be a graphite greyish colour. Opinions?

Thanks.

Regards.

^I prefer the flat black--But everyone goes that route. Try photoshopping some pics with a dark gray; It can look good.

im only 16, and my dad is a little sceptical about anything being done to the car. I really hope he will let me paint the middle bumper peice and the crome trim and the emblem. Also, my uncle had an old jetta (i think 95-01) i dont know, anyway, used vinyl on the area between the emblem and the bumper. he scratched it, and once you scratch it you cant fix it.
paint ftw

I just had mine painted professionally! I was so so scared!!! I only had the car for 2 days LOL but it was so nice when you paint it! LOL no regrets here, do those bumper paint hold for a long time? It doesn't get scratch or chip easily?

I have a GG GTS and am contemplating this.... But I'm worried that the already dark body color would look stupid with the black bumper and blacked out chrome.... any opinions? I'm very good at painting (been airbrushing for 5 years).

Also, if I do the license plate relocate kit, do you think I should fill in the two screw holes or just keep the rubber caps in?

I painted it at the same time i painted the bumper yesterday, it' really easy because the honeycome and logo unscrew leaving the chrome you'd want to paint. I used the same DupliColour black matte that was used for the bumper xD
i only put three coats on it, i figured it should hold up well enough

Did this today but my car is black so i used black Plasti-dip instead of black paint. Did the upper and lower grill as well. Worked out awesome. I love the contrast and i finally rid of that horrible chrome on the grille lol.
