I followed the exact steps some members suggest when painting the chrome grille on the GTS'...the proper sand paper, spray paint, and techniques and the paint started chipping off after taking the car on the highway the next day.

When I painted it I did countless coats on the grille, it looked flawless but obviously didn't work out too well. Now Im probably going to do the grille in vinyl or buy a ES grille.

Hey I'm new in this forum and I got a brand new 08 Lancer GTS. The color is the Aqua color. Im thinking on having it paint in a pro shop, but if its to expensive I might just end up doing it myself. Any suggestions or recommendations on what kind of paint or just anything I should have in mind??

Yeah, read me first post. I recommend using the Dupli-color bumper paint.

Try doing it yourself first, and see how it turns out. If you do not like the final result, than take it and have it professionaly done.

I just ordered flat black vinyl from ebay. I'm hoping 15" X 5' will be enough to do the chrome grill and the front part. I'll post pics whenever I get this done, prolly not until the end of next week. I haven't decided if I'm going to do the bottom lip yet but it looks pretty good from the pics I've seen.

You can get silver trim at an autoparts store like Autozone or checker. I think Walmart has it too. I read his post somwhere and that's what he used. I would try to get rid of the gaps in between though so that it looks like one solid piece.
