Stock Subwoofer Enclosure
Has anyone manage to replace the Rockford Fosgate sub that came with the GTS with an aftermarket one while still using the stock enclosure? Or do I have to get a new enclosure? Thinking of getting two subs, one will go where the RF used to be and one will be on the right side to balance things out. Would the stock RF amp be enough to add another sub or should I get another amp dedicated to one/both subs?
Sorry for the questions, I don't really know much about car audio. This will be my first time getting into aftermarket car audio parts.
Thanks in advance.

The EVO IX has a sub enclosure with the S&S package... I tried to replace the sub in it with and higher quality, but there wasn't enough depth and it would hit the wheel well. That would of been Just To Easy I guess... I personally can't even hear the sub even when turned all the way up.. So my plan is to put my sub box in the car, but it adds weight and takes up space which I DON"T want...

I think my stock sub is dead. It's producing a scratchy sound when I opened up the trunk. Dealer said replacement won't be here for another month due to the Christmas holidays so I'm just gonna go ahead and put in an aftermarket sub (or two) and amp in there.
For your enclosure, did it take up all of your trunk space?

Why not wait, get the replacement sup under warranty, take it out and try and sell it. Then replace with aftermarket. I know anything aftermarket will need more airspace, plus it will sound wayy better with a bigger box, and a new amp.

You're right though. I could probably just get the aftermarket subs and amp now and wait til the replacement comes in. After all, it's almost boxing day here in Canada so I'm sure there'll be deals to be had for car audio parts. =)

He is having the current sub replaced under warranty there is nothing different just a new sub, since it was blown, speaking of which i have a blown tweeter and getting it replaced as soon as i can get it in the shop, just got mailed the "product is in" letter took about 1 week or so . Do have to say they send me a lot of mail sorry to hear a delay until next year.
