How To: GTS kit on ES model?

Well ive ordered the front air dam, side skirts, and rear spoiler and will be installing them on my 08 es. My dad works at a body shop and has been doing body work for over 30 years. I also owned a celica and we had to (my dad) had to custom mold the body kit etc.. I know it will be easy to do for him but if anyone has done it and can provide me with some tips so i dont just stand there and watch him that would be great. I want to be more helpful this time around and know what I am doing, any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've had similar experience's with my dad. He's a mechanic so whenever something happens to one of the cars, he fixes it, but every time i used to go help, all he would let me do was jack the car and take off the tire lol. You just have to convince your dad into managing you and telling you how to do it, otherwise you can't learn for the future. Sorry to say, but even with tips, your dad would still probably just do it and not say anything....or in my case, just yell at you for not doing it his way. When i started fixin cars i did it when he wasn't around, get the job done, then show him the completed work and he'd say good job and walk away. its almost an impossible battle to win. sorry for the rant, if you want some of the pages on disassembling the bumpers, let me know.

haha, you have a shop dad too eh? You know the feeling then, Its his way or no way .. But i give him credit for all the help he has given me. Im usually there just to lend a hand, hold stuff, get tools, stay out of his way etc... With my celica we repainted the whole thing too, well he painted, i got to sand the whole car......and other prep work... but i just wanted to see if anyone has done this or had a write up on it. I already have seen the write up for removing the front bumper but if you have any additional pictures or suggestions please feel free. Thanks again.

The GTS kit from mitsu is simple...it usually comes prepainted and you dont really need to do body work to make it look like the GTS...Its just a bolt on kit with two sided tape. All you have to do is DRILL!

haha ya, ive always been pretty good with my hands, so iv learned a lot from him just from watchin. The main thing is to just take your time and always measure twice. you can always cut more, but you can never put it back lol As far as the install, should be pretty easy. Just careful with the side skirts cuz iv seen a few people say how they messed it up and its a little crooked.

don't fret it does come with some detailed instructions you can always fall back to...for the front take off the bumper and it has the drill points pre-determined...part of the mold
