Need steering wheel stereo control wiring information.

I want to be able to control an Ipod/MP3 player from the steering wheel controls. My thinking is that if I splice onto the wires from the steering wheel controls and onto the buttons on a docking station I should be able to use the steering wheel controls to change tracks.

Does anyone have any information about the head unit or steering wheel control wiring not already provided in any of the custom aux in cable threads?

Has anyone compared the wiring diagram for the Mitsu mp3 and the ipod wires?

ummm good luck. I can supply wiring diagrams but if you have no concept of vehicle electronics/computers you are in for some trouble/surprises. PM me for schematics if you want...and I will be away for a month real soon.

I dont think that will work, different voltage levels and you will probably blow your ipod

get a deck that has ipod control, and then wire your steering wheel controls to your new deck.

Camshaft, you have any idea how to hook up an aftermarket HU, to the stock rockford amp with the premium SandS system. The wire harness available from metra right now is only good for the base stereo....

I have the wiring schematics, but they're like greek to me. I need to know which wires are the audio speaker wires, and the remote power wire into the amp.
