Manual starter/alarm

I want to install an alarm/starter combo on my manual ES.

I havent heard of anyone successfully doing it on anything besides the CVT.

has anyone done it on the manual? if so with what kit? did you do it yourself or did a shop do it?

thanks

Brendan

I didn't know you can do it in a CVT... I thought the CVT will interfere with a lot of stuff. Can you link to what you are talking about?

Well this is the model I got installed from Ziebart - http://www.compustar.com/products/P2W9000FMR.htm

It worked fine with my CVT and as you can see its manual tranny compatible too.

thanks for the info, I've always wanted one since I hate idling my car for 2-3 minutes every time I start it up.

What about us Lancers with the F.A.S.T. key option? I'm looking for a solution that doesn't involve me losing my spare key.

I don't see why there would be any problems putting in a car starter... I've done it on many cars. As for a module that will let you bypass the chip without giving up a spare key.. I haven't come across one that works well since they are hit and miss, and often times cost almost as much as getting another key blank made anyways..
