HELP!! sri issues
i just installed my k&n sri and every time i turn my steering wheel, the throttle/RPM goes up to 2k and there's a weird zapping sound(like a bee). i followed all the directions right but idk what's the prob.
UPDATE: also when starting the car, rpm suddenly goes down to 900 (usually 2k) and when turning it off, a weird denting steel like sound occurs.

Denting steel sound doesn't sound good. No idea what that is, unless your SRI is moving around and hitting something in the engine compartment?
As for the revving, you have to disconnect the battery for about half an hour and reconnect it. Then start it and let it just idle for 10 minutes so the ECU can re-learn. If you search you'll find a ton of info on resetting the ECU and relearning idle.
The turning wheel thing could be this or it could also be due to the engine having to work harder to power the power steering pump. Just a guess.

If the intake is installed correctly you don't really need it to relearn anything. Can you show us close up pictures so we can identify with you more? All cars when turning the wheel at idle will make the rpm creep-up.

Hm...can't exactly tell if anything is wrong in the picture. Seems like you hooked it up right. Can you confirm that the intake is on really tight on the throttle body? Make sure your intake filter does not hit that terminal or sparks will fly and it could damage your electrical system and possibly kill your battery.

its secured tightly in the throttle body. the filter is kinda hitting that terminal by bit so i bent the filter. probably i'll bend it i lil bit more.oh and about the weird steel like denting sound, probably because the car have many miles on it(123k).

Its probably your intake just hitting something when the car shuts off. I'm not sure what could be your problem other than your maf is probably dirty or its not reading the airflow correctly.

or i think its still in learning mode but the idle speed is fine now. maybe ill just let a mechanic look through my car coz it has a lot of mileage on it.
thanks for helping me guys.
EDIT: im not sure if that sound have somethin to do with the intake. coz i remember one time when i shut off the engine, i've heard that sound. i just remember bout it and i'll just bring it to a mechanic to be sure.
