LWR Tie Bars Install...

I was waiting for Rock at RRM to notice my entry... I wouldn't of created the thread if it was already brought up in the blog... (am I using the word "Blog" correctly...?) My thoughts are, the more information I have about a aftermarket part the better. Plus, I'm getting close to the day I install the pile of parts I have in my dining room...

Thanks
JBG

Its actually quite simple. You can physically see the 2 flat piece bars that hold your rear control arm to the chassis. The torque rating you should use is around 10-15 lb ft. it should take only 5 mins to install.

step 1. raise rear end of car.
step 2. unscrew the 4 bolts holding the bars.
step 3. screw back in the bolts with the new RRM tie bars.

and you're done. The bars can only fit one way. It basically sits flush to the points of connection.

*IMPORTANT NOTE* YOU NEED 3IN SOCKET SETS IN LENGTH. in order to screw in RRM rods. your standard 1 inch length socket set will not do.

As for the front, its the same procedure

step 1. raise front end of car.
step 2. unscrew the 4 bolts holding the plate.
step 3. screw back in the bolts with the new RRM front strut bar.

As use 10-15 lb ft as a torque limit.

yeah they have to be the easiest parts ever to put on. i just put my car on ramps and bam 10 minutes later the parts were on. i wouldn't really worry about torque either if you don't have a torque wrench, just dont go crazy on em.

Let me get this straight, the lower tie bars are for the rear stability and the lower truss bar is for the front...? Or are they both for the rear, or visa-versa...

Please tell me where they get installed...? I know that they are to stiffen the rigidity of the suspension geometry to give better response & performance. Especially in combination with the front & rear upper strut bars and the upgraded rear sway bar… Works in unison, I get it…

BTW - I haven't even looked under the car to even guess where they are installed... I don't have ramps, my uncle is letting me use his auto shop.

No, not stock... If your interested in the parts we are discussing or you see in my signature, go to http://www.roadracemotorsports.com/s...c223dd7675006d

That's where I've got most of my parts from... I trust'em...
