It looks like no one has checked on this thread for a long time, but in case anyone is interested, I have photos of how my wing goes on.

I went to visit friends in New Mexico for vacation, and took the wing off and put it in the back seat for trip there. I'm pretty sure the wing costs me a little gas mileage on the highway, and I wanted to save gas if at all possible for the 1300 miles from FL to NM.

I covered the little holes in the trunk lid with blue electrical tape.

The day after arriving in NM, I put the wing back on and took photos.

This photo shows all the holes in my trunklid:

Here is the underside of the wing's mounting pedestal. For each of the two pedestals, there are two shiny bolts and one shiny nut. They were all the same size. 10mm, I think.

This photo is with the wing propped up on the trunklid. The plastic pegs are clipped into place, but I think the black bolts from the wing are holding up all the weight.

In this photo, almost everything is in place. The bolt from the bottom has been threaded into its' place on the pedestal, and the black bolt from the pedestal has the nut screwed on.

The other bolt goes through a hole in the pedestal, and screws into the threaded hole in the trunk lid:

There's a little plastic cover for each pedestal, to cover the bolt:

The plastic cover clicks into place with tabs, and it's practically invisible unless you're looking for it:

So, if we could swap wings, I'd send my wing with the 2 plastic covers, 4 bolts, and 2 nuts.

I have a feeling we can't. Can someone with the GTS wing tell me if their trunk holes line up with my trunk holes? If we have to swap a whole trunk lid, we really have to meet somewhere and do it. Before making the drive I'd also like to be really sure we have the same tail lights.

I drove the 1300 miles home with the wing in place (I had boxes in the back seat). Gas mileage was about the same as the trip out there. I had a downpipe installed while I was in NM, so that probably made up for the losses from the wing. From a scientific point of view, it was inconclusive.

Bump.

Anyone else have the GTS or standard Evo wing, and want to swap for the tall factory wing?

WOW, SO glad I found this thread while randomly browsing the internet! I really hope you still have this and want to trade. I drive an Octane Blue GTS and I'd LOVE to switch wings with you. I'm also in south-central VA so I'm witihin driving distance. Hit me up bro!

Yep, still have it. Have you looked at the bolts on your wing? Can we trade wings, or do we have to trade trunk lids?

Before we drive several hours to meet, I'd like to know if one of us will have to drill a hole, or fill holes in.

I've responded to some PMs...
...and adjusted my settings so I get an e-mail when someone PMs me. So, I shouldn't be so slow to respond next time.

Did the swap! I'll go take some pics after a while...one day when it's not raining.

In a nutshell:
On each side, the plastic peg and one bolt will line up when you do the swap.

If you want to put the high Evo wing on a car that didn't come with it, you'll need to drill a new hole on either side. It shouldn't be too hard, as the location is evident on the underside of the trunk lid. However, the bolt that was supposed to go downward, into the threaded hole, won't have a home any more.

For putting the low wing on a car that came with the high wing, the frontmost hole in the trunk is farther forward than the front hole on the pedestal. I'll need to plug that hole and the threaded hole on each side...eventually.
