I have a 2002 Mitsubishi lancer and I am having a hard time installing and wiring the gauge. For some reason it is not accurate even though the gauge is for the correct ohms 3-110. However, I am not sure if I am wiring it to the correct wire where the fuel pump is. can someone please give me some pics to help me understand better.

 

Are you connecting to a wire on the fuel pump? The fuel sending unit is separate from the pump. There is another small round plate to the side of the fuel pump plate that has the sender unit under it, you just pull up it has sealant holding it down so dont forget to reseal the plate on after you connect your gauge.

 

Which plate? There is a square one and a circle one. I wired the gauge to a wire in the square plate.I have all data diagrams I just don't know which wire to connect it to under the circle plate? Is the fuel pump under the swuare plate and the fuel sending unit under the circle plate?

 

Yes you connect under the circle plate NOT the square plate. In this diagram it shows #1 pin on the plug is the one you need to tap into
