Yet another seat question:

I need help -

I need new seats I have a 04 LS. I can't really afford Recaros. But, I can afford in the 400 price range. Why not just save up and put the 1,000 dollar recaros. While that would be ideal, I just can't. I rather put the 1k on suspension. I just need something until I can't tollerate it any more. Anything has to be better than stock. Anyone have any suggestions of a comfortable seat in the price range? I also recognize that I sit way too high, so would I have to buy a lowering bracket?

Any leads or help is appreciated.

I have a sparco EVO 3 in my subie. Its amazing Big Guy seat. When it comes to after market seat you don't want to cheap out on what your getting. If you don't want a fixed back seat I would look into some used evo seats.

If you want a fixed back racing seat then I would make sure that the seat is FIA rated. I would not suggest buying any used racing seat because they are only good for 5 years via the standards.

Basically when it comes to a seat its a major component of the safety features of your car. Not something to skimp on when it could be the difference between living and dieing.

Just my .02

I wasn't too sure on the Sparco. I've seen their seats wasn't too sure if they were a company to look at.

A few of my buddies have racing seats and I tend to fit them a little more snug, and wanted something that cradled more than hugged. I know the point of racing seats is to give you that secure feeing. But let's face facts I'm in a 120hp LS. Not an evo, I wont be breaking any land speed records any time soon. So I'll def check out the evo 3.

Thanks for the tips I have a better idea of what I'm looking to get into.

I am 6'1" and about 280lbs and the evo3 fits me perfect. If you not as big you can probably fit into the evo2 pretty well. Also great thing about the new sparco's they refreshed the look and they are all HANS compatible now.

Are used OEM Recaros from 8/9s a good ride/feel/quality? at least in comparison to stock lancer seats.

Or would one be better off buying aftermarket sparcos/recaros and seat brackets?

Anyone know where they sell evo seats? I know they're prob $$ but just to check them out online. I googled but got forums. Or is it just one of those - keep your eyes open type of deal?

What he said. Hit up SocalEvo/NorcalEvo's message boards. You're more than likely to strike a good deal, especially if you're local.
