I have a 2002 oz rally and I been rebuilding it for 2 years and everything under the hood is new but the ecu,(my 2nd cylinder is not firing and the coil is good injectors is good my mechanic told me since the ecu had no power for such a long time it needs to be reflashed. so plz ppl of evolutionm how do I reflash my ecu bad in to working order and what do I need to do so

 

Hello so what your saying is that since it sat for 2 years its no good thats funny my car sat for a year and a half before i bought it and installed a new battery ether someone fried the ecu or it could be simple of a wire shorting out check the wires that go to the coil and read the voltage when turning it over if no voltage trace the wire to under the glove box and check it there also check ALL the grounds not saying someone did something wrong it does not sound plausable for it to happen the factory does not keep them powered on till they sell them

 

I checked for bad wires already but thanks for posting thats a common overlook but while reading ur post I realized something and in my last engine I blew a rod in the 2nd cylinder and drove it a great distance to my mechanic, and that's when we started the rebuild, I'm thinking maybe instead of reflash the ecu but reset ecm?! ikd I'm lost and i just dont know what to do anymore

 

sorry about that i hope everything works out and also i dont know what mods you have but if you get rid of the car now it will only get you 500 compared if you fix it depending on replacement parts you can get 3000 for it just to let you know from personal experience

 

well I looked online for reflashing tool and came across http://www.tactrix.com/ I'm thinking about reflash the ecu solo but its hard for me to trust a product I know nothing about. apparently its what I need to do the job but I want to know has anyone ever tried it before?

 

search tactrix on evom that is the biggest thing on the tuning the lancer and also sorry for last post im moving and did not read the last engine before you replaced it

 

well I hope I can simply download the software to revive this car yay
