you need an air gun trust me i tried everything and the only way i could get it of was by using the air gun and it only took 2 seconds with the air gun .. Its a very easy mod with the air gun and if you dont have one good luck on trying to break that bolt loose .. and in my opinion the car feels much lighter

Immediate help needed again!

I have taken off the belt off of the pulleys, there is no tension... I have put it in first and second gear. I am stuck at trying to get the crankshaft pulley out. Everytime I turn left or right with my wrench, it goes around and around. At a certain point, it seems like the turn is much easier and then gets hard again. I hope people will know what i'm talking about. i have tried to stop making it spin, but it's just too hard. i need help =( i have an airgun with 150 psi? about 150 lb/ft i believe... I just bought it too. Seems like no use when I put it at 160lb/ft.. Blah... So frustrated. lol I have even tried pushing down on the breaks ON GEAR 1-5, R... and still. the freaking thing turns. . . . . . sigh -_- could it be possible that my air gun isn't strong enough? seeing how its pushing only 160 for like 1 second... i dont see anything else that could be wrong. Onee question, am i turning the crank pulley to the loosen it like normal screws (lefty), or tighten it (righty) ?

I had this same problem too using a torque wrench. I got mine to work by either having a friend hold down the brakes as hard as possible, or you cna use a long pole and put one end on the brake pedal and prop the other end against the seat. You will need to use an air wrench. Just hold it down until it breaks the bolt lose.

you could do it that way, but the pulley will still freeley move if you DO NOT push on the brake pedal and do not use an impact wrench and just revv it until it comes lose.

This is what happened... I don't have an air gun nor can I find someone who does (borrow or rental) so I took this to a shop to get it installed and they told me that they are going to have to lower the engine to get this thing on... I called BS and they took me out and said that there is something blocking it so they can't just pull the stock one off and slide the new one on... What the **** is this all about???

I have one of these coming in on Friday for my 09.

Would either of these Impact Guns work?

Is one better then the other?

Where can you get one cheaper? the DeWalt is the cheapest "electric" at Lowes it looks like.

Thanks for the help.

Save your money and just get a breaker bar.

I got the DeWalt since I've heard bad things about pep boys around here. It says it has a 90 day money back guarantee on the box & 3 yr warranty so it will probably go back when I'm done unless I'm really satisfied with it.
