How to: Debadge your Lancer 2008 GTS
How to: Debadge your Lancer 2008 GTS
Hi All,
just finished debadging my Lancer 2008 GTS and figured I'd document the process. It was fairly straight forward.

So first thing you need to gather are the following:
Hair Dryer
Soapy Water
Cloth to Wipe
Fishing Line
Some sort of Plastic Card

Here's what your Lancer should start off with.

1. Wipe down your emblem of any dust/dirt
2. Take your hair dryer, and set it to your hot setting. Try to heat up the entire emblem for 2-5 minutes.
3. Take a string of the fishing line (should be fairly thin, to slide between your emblem and hood) and slide it between your emblem and hood. You should use a rocking motion (left and right) to slide it through. It will be a bit tough, especially down the middle, but just keep heating it up and rocking, it'll go through.

The end result should look like this, if you're lucky, you'll have less then what I had.

4. Next you'll take the plastic card, and basically you'll want to try to scrape off the excess residue. You can probably use Goo Gone for this, but you can also just scrape and heat. After you've scraped off most of it, you can use the cloth to wipe off any of the left over residue. You can also follow up with some wax etc.

And here's how the Mitsubishi side turned out.

And you're done. Happy debadging!

DUDE You have parking sensors!?!?! How did u get those? Is that an option in Canada?? Does the navi show u a screen of where the obstructions are when you are backing up or does it just beep? Is there a button somewhere in your interior to tell it to stop beeping if you want to disable/enable it?
Good job on the debadging too, I've been thinking of just taking the "mitsubishi" off and leaving the "lancer" emblem
