Lancer vs. Mirage?
Late to the game. This is what I posted on MPF when some guy asked the same question.
"Lancer versus Mirage should be a driver's race. Lancer has 7 more horses and I think 13ish more torque, but the power to weight ratio is on the Mirage's end."
Miragers share the advantage on less car, fewer doors (talking about my LS coupe), seems like less structural integrity (the payoff is that when we hit, we hit hard, but hey we're lighter) etc etc.

The mirage would be a better car to mod. I had one, miss it so. Anywho, Its alot similar to an evo 4,5,6 than our lancer is to an evo 7,8,9. At least on the mirage, they kept the rear end the same and could mount the rear diff and subframe way easier than us 02 and up having to cut the whole rear end.
