DVD player with 7' screen install
DVD player with 7' screen install
I'm installing my new DVD player with flip out screen and I have a problem. There is always electricity going to the player. No matter if the key is on or off, the unit stays on, even the clock turn on because off that.
I have all cable connected from the adapter but 1. The #4 on the diagram.
Could it be the reason? Or it's coming from the unit?

If it works like a normal CD player then it should be turned on via the "Ignition power" wire, which i forget the color, but it should be in the same group of adaptors with the power, ground, remote, antenna, etc. harness... Make sure you didn't cross them.
Also do you have the SSL package? I originally had some trouble figuring out which wires were which one..

At first I did cross those 2 wire and burned a fuse. I changed them and the problem still there.
Nope, I dont have the SSL package.
So I guess the problem comes from the radio. :s

hm.. well that's beyond me then cause i don't know the setup to these DVD players... keep us posted on what's happening. Sometimes if you go to the install bay by bestbuy and ask them about it they'll answer you and not charge you even if they look at it quickly...
Unplug the unit to see if the clock turns off when the key is out of the ignition. This would rule out the issue being with the car. Some source units malfunction and cause the condition that you are describing. If your clock problem goes away once the unit is unplugged, you may want to isolate the red acc. wire on the harness from the rest of the car with a spdt relay.

And here is a pic of my harness. I bought a plug from Canadian tires and plugged all the wire I had from the deck harness.
