Time for a transmissions overhaul... some questions..

Hello, well, today my third gear synchro went out, (at least thats what I think it is).
when upshifting from 2nd to 3rd, it would grind. when downshifting from 4th to 3rd, it would grind.
I changed the fluid just last summer when it was at 104000KM (~65000 Miles), as of now, it is at 123000KM.(~76000 Miles) [I did put 20000KM or 13000 miles on it in 7 months]
Since the powertrain warranty is still in effect (160000KM warranty) I am thinking about bringing it to the stealership to hopefully get it done under warranty.
A few things that they MAY use to ATTEMPT to void my warranty are that I put a Quaife diff in (which shouldn't at all affect the transmission i would think); and that I have an aftermarket clutch (spec stage 3) [would they be able to deny my warranty claim on this?]. other modifications include coilovers, intake, exhaust. and that's pretty much it.

anyways.. my questions are:
What are the chances that the dealership will not honour the warranty?
If they don't honour it, how much cheaper/more expensive will it be to get it done by another company besides mitsubishi?
Any tips in dealing with the dealership on a warranty claim?
How hard is it to rebuild the transmission myself? I am very mechanically inclined and pretty much do all of my own work, but I don't have a hoist to take the tranny out.
Do I have any other options?

that's all the questions.. for now... every other gear does not grind, It's just third that does it

Thanks in advance!

Edit: I also have the brass shifter bushings, a short shift, RRM motor mounts, RRM stainless clutch line (therefore no clutch restrictor)

take it to the dealer first to have them look at it, dude. if they deem its not a warrenty thing they'll tell ya and then they'll also tell ya how much its gonna run ya to get it fixed haha.
but it might not be the transaxle, who knows. take it in to north or west side.

haha yeah, i guess i should change that to "how much cheaper/more expensive will it be to get it done by another company besides mitsubishi?"

anyways, I just got back from documenting it on my camera, and I'll head to the dealership on tuesday to get it checked. most likely west side =)

also, double clutching the upshift makes it not grind.

all depends on the dealership, I say take it just to see what they say and if they deny it, then you're no worse off than if you didnt take it in

The grind is more pronounce at the end of the video than in the beginning. at the beginning it's more of a thunk noise, but that's because of the camera
