Based on your mods, you may be SOL. You have brass bushings, a short shifter and a clutchline. These things allow you to shift faster which in turn puts more stress on the synchros. Based on your mileage, this isn't likely a manufacturer's error but a user error. My friend blew out his third gear (why is it always third gear?) on his Mazda3 (maybe 50000 KM at most) and based on his driving style, it's obvious how.

this reminds me, btw.. when i still drove my 98 corolla (it had 270'000km on it at the time) I took it into a transmission place before to have them test drive it. at the time i had this weird phenomena going on where the gears would get sticky and feel lose. really weird.
anyway, i took it in, he drove it and said there was nothing wrong with it, except that the synchro for 3rd gear was slowly going - it also did a slight grind into third - so it's kind of odd how its always 3rd gear.

my ralliart right now is fine. it better be. only 37'700km on it right now.

well, take a look at my second video, I believe that I shift quite well, double clutching the downshifts, never dumping the clutch, never jamming the shifter in as hard as i can. It's not like I abused the car.

anyways, service appointment is booked at 9:00 tomorrow =) man.. the people at west side are so nice... the lady on the phone was cheerful and everything... not like southside...

And this is why dealerships hate tuners and why they're quick to deny work to everyone. Seriously, people ***** and moan that dealerships won't warranty problems yet they think it's ethical to essentially lie to cover their own ***.

Hm.. my 2nd gear synchro was done. Just had the 2nd gear, 1st/2nd synchro, rev synchro (i think), rev gear and a bunch of other misc parts replaced. Though I paid out of my pocket since i'm way past my warranty. 3 weeks later, the tranny went again, now its being covered by the tranny shop and being rebuilt again.

I'm not too concerned, I'm in the midst of buying a caged GVR4... :-)
