I'm not sure if it is possible or even a good idea but after reading DIY on the seat bracket for aftermarket seats somebody on the forum mentioned that RMR makes seat brackets(bases) that are lower than the stock ones. I want to have mine custom made so the driver's seat is lower and maybe than I wouldn't feel like I'm driving a SUV.
Is it a good idea? / possible?

anything is possible with the right amount of money, I'd say just get the RMR ones, the cost of R&R for them is already taken care of, you won't have a shop charging you for fab time. and what SUV drives as nice as a lancer?

so wait do you have aftermarket seats? or are you talking about lowering your stock seats. well either way it CAN be done, but it isnt going to be easy. my dad (welder) actually made some seat brackets for my seats. like i said it can be done but you'd have to make a totally new base with different height measurements. its basically going to be some work. unless anyone else has some idea. but i'm pretty sure thats the only way.

forgot to add. or just save a headache and get the rmr ones.

my friend taught me how to weld and i made my own in under 4 hours. (learning+fabrication) he only charged me $20 for the pieces and the use of his shop.
