Unhappy Evo 7 steering Wheel problem!

I just got my evo VII steering wheel lookes real good and everything but when i put it on the car it sticks out about half an inch so there is this big gap there. Look at pics to see. Because of the way the steering column is i cant push the steering wheel down any farther if i did i would not be able to fit to screw in that prevents the wheel from coming off the column. What should i do?? I tried to fill the gap with some foam rubber wheather stripping it looked really good but it ripped right off when i turned the wheel a few times. Any sudgestiong would really help it look really out of place in the car because it sticks out so damn far.

hey man.. when i first was putting on my wheel i had the same problem.. my only advise is to take it out and try again.. make sure that its lined up evenly... and just push it in... it will go in all the way .. also make sure that nothing is blocking it in its path.... hope this helps

i was just wondering how much of a gap I should have between the steering wheel and the steering column. I just installed my evo 8 wheel and theres a small gap about the thickness of 2 quarters stacked on top of each other all the way around. I took it out several times and reinstalled it, but no luck each time it has that gap.

Is this normal or should mine be sitting completely flush with a paper thin gap?
