I couldn't find a thread on the topic, so I thought I'd go ahead and pose the question.
What are some good care guidelines for carbon fiber? I've heard rumors that waxing can increase yellowing - is this true? What can be done about fading/whitening clear coat on a carbon fiber product? Any other general pointers or comments would be appreciated.

so what did you end up doing? i am curious to see how your CF came out my seibon hood seems like its starting to fade, the CF isnt as dark as it is new and in the sun you can start too see the yellowing ughh.
I had a very faded cf hood. I did some searching and found several articles n the restoration of cf. here is a link to one.

I tried this myself and found some improvement. But My hood had seen better days. At the time i was getting the body kit painted i decided t go ahead and spray the hood (vis) with a new clear coat.
first I wet sanded it with 600 grit paper

then I used some acetone to clean any particles and stuff that may hurt the clear coat. Make sure to get ALL the wax off the hood. You will immediately see line pop up in little scratches that have wax in them. clear coat on top of wax=not a good thing.
Then 5 coats of clear

Wet sand again to remove any dust or bubles, and polish to perfection.

final product=

Its been several months now and it still looks great. Oh, the car has been in a garage for allot of the time but it should hold up good.
Hope this helps you and others.
I can say that i am happy with the results
