um no, fender flares are a body modification...rolling the fender is something different. u take the inside of the fender (where the tire is rubbing) and roll it away so they dont rub.

lol he has a point tho, with new fenders you would be able to completely remove the plastic crap. but im sure you dont want to buy a kit just for the purpose of fitting bigger wheels.
common sense says that no forseeable negative side effects can com from flaring your fenders as the black plastic crap does not support anything, im sure you could get an estimate from any shop where they have a saw. depending on the tools you have you might be able to do it yourself...

omg some of you ppl post the stupidest things...any way...
Ben there are a couple of ways you can do it. the best way is to use a torch and actually heat up the inside of the fender. then you can mold it out. but this requires a lot of skill to do right without messin it up. your probably going to have to redo the paint as the extream heat will make it look like ****. another way is to actually cut the inside of the fender and bend it up. i havn't looked at the inside of the lancer's fender so i don't kno if there much to cut, but you again have to be careful because if you leave any sharp edges and your tire hits it it will explode.
or you can have a body shop actually cut out your fender and bend and mold it back together for more clearance. it can get pricey tho.

I no what your talking about I was just trying to offer you a sulution you want to roll your fenders out so you can put a wider rim on but its not going to look right if you roll them out and dont have any thing to mach
