Refabricating the Interior
i tried to do black
and im completely fcked up my interior
and i broke a window rotor
so i ended up getting it professionally done
and now i have gray leather(door panels) with black interior(except seats)
I looked at your CarDomain page, the door panels definitely look nice. At first I was thrown off by the green in the door handles and window controls, but then I saw your neons and it all made sense.
Well I would hope you wouln't wrap your stock front seats with Bride fabric cause that would be rice and lame. I'm sorry but 200$ seats are for idiots, they aren't tested and could (and probably would) be a serious liability in the event of a crash. What I was saying was to buy Bride front seats and then wrap the rear seat and do the door panels with the fabric.
Bride front seats with doors/rear seats done in bride fabric is quite popular. Many evos have this exact set up. I think it looks great. What I would like to do is take black suede and do the doors, peices of dash and enstead of going two tone id do suede and cf peices... since that would match my ext and not look to crazy with red or w/e color would be used. I think black interiors are best anyway.
Well, the main reason I'm going two tone is because I didn't have door panels when I bought my car. When I ordered some, they ended up being the black color, not the gray color like the rest of the interior. It doesn't look bad, I was just surprised when I got it. So now I was going to put gray inserts in the black door panels, and put black fabric in the gray seats to even it out a little more.
Well, I couldn't find a set of all four, so I ended up ordering them from salvage yards. They all ended up being in excellent condition, but when I ordered the first one, I specified I needed dark gray, because I thought there was a lighter color gray than what my interior had, and they must've thought I meant black, so they sent me a black one. So I ended up getting all black door panels. It doesn't look bad, it just gives me more of a reason to go with a two-tone scheme.
