lol... powder coating is a system used for metals... antirust, high heat etc... the way some one powder coats is 1.they strip the metal debris with some liquid, 2.then they transfer electricity to it, 3.then the use special paint to spray it on 4.after that it goes into an oven where its cooked at a high temperature...

a powder coating system runs about 1200+< you also have to have some basic knowledge on painting and mixing colors as well as the amount of electricity passed/ and type of metals etc...

Im going to Give my Engine and Transmission a Paint Job this weekend. I hope that the Paint holds up to Oil and Grease this is the only time I plan to have the engine out of the car while I am out here in Guam.

Sorry to inform you, but your parts were not prepped correctly if this happened.
Powder coating will withstand more heat than paint, and is 10 time more durable than any paint.

There is no paint liquid, it's ALL powder. Also there in no mixing required

To the original poster, I would recommend some high temp paint as powder coating the block CORRECTLY can cost you a pretty penny. If you prep everything correct, the paint will hold up well to the bay heat.

those are some beautiful pieces, too bad powder coating is so expensive or i'd love do give my engine some color. god knows its gonna need bath in grease cutter before any part of it could go anywhere near paint haha.

Just out of curiosity... what is the correct way to prep say the valve cover to be painted?
