Exclamation Fiberglass tweeter pods...

Im thinking of fiberglassing the triangle pieces that the screws to hold the side view mirrors are behind. Im gonna mold them to look like the stock tweeter setup on the galants. Sorry i don have a pic. Does anyone know how to take off that piece? I think the only way i could make it would be to screw it on, sorta like the way you have to screw on aftermarket gauge pillars. Anyone got any other ideas.
Oh and i tried taking off the piece before with a screwdriver but it didnt budge...wonder if i was doing it wrong...anybody?...

They should just pop right off. Might take a little extra prying, but I'm pretty sure they just pop off. I have tweeters fiberglassed in that exact spot on my car. A friend of mine who works for Tweeter is the one who did it and I watched him while he worked on some of it. He had them out of the car in like 5 seconds so it can't be too hard.

I believe u have to pop of the door panel because there is a piece from that black plastic triangle that is placed behind the door panel to keep a tight fit...so be real carefull when prying on it.

As a person who worked in the Car Audio Industry for almost 10 years. Don't put your tweeter there. Best Place is the Kick Panels. Up to high will make the music to bright and also will be placed to close to the Ear vs. the Mid.

But do what you gotta do. Just throwing out some tid bits for you.

Because Mitsubishi could probably care less what proper imaging on a front Stage would be.

i guess cosmetically i think i would go with the pods on the triangles but for sound i should go with the tweeters in the door panel... is there a way i can turn down the gain like with a sub. ive never messed with tweeters before...

Just have to adjust the treble down on your headunit to compensate.

REALISTICALLY: None of us have a system that is quite high end enough to worry about getting everything in the absolute best location. And if there is anybody that does, share some of the money because I am talking like SQ competition quality (speakers generally range $400+ per pair) As long as you can get it to sound good to you and you can stand to listen to it all the time, then you have built a good system.

With that said.... a benefit of moving the tweets to the sail panel is that you don't have to put up with the sound getting messed up too bad if somebody moves their leg. (I speak from experience, and it drives me crazy)

Either way, keep on rockin'

Talking Tweeter Pods Finished!!

Okay i finally got to work on the tweeter pods that i was planning. The area on the sail panels isn't very big so it was a BIATCH to get them to fit. I plan to purchase flush mount tweeters in the future so thats the reason for the large size. The size of the pods i made are the absolute largest possible size for that location.... anyways heres some pics.

u have a few wrinkles...work them out or start over...ull be happier in the end that way and if u do end if starting over (which i think u might) id sink the ring in about 1/4 of an inch...looks kinda funky rite now...but other than that...looks good!

^ i know what you mean about the wrinkles but it was rediculously hard to get the cloth i used to form like that. I tried to make it closer to the panel, or sunken in a bit more, but it doesn't clear the a pillar and the dash... i'm not too good with making it smooth, hence the textured look =)
