He is the stereotypical evo owner^ No **** Sherlock. We drive lancers and we are not trying to race anyone. The evo VIII kit just looks really good on our lancers. Oh yeah I dont know about anyone else but I am very offended by the term "ricer". I no way, shape, or form do I put stickers on my car to make people think its cool, or slap a fart can on and drive around reving it up like I am fast. You are forutnate enough to have the money for an evo while I am barley scrapin along, so suck it up, we dont care if you dont like it.

I think the evo guy does make a good point, how many ricers use the old argument of "I just want people to stop and look at my car" in defense of their huge wings, neon lights, fart cans, etc.? While personally I don't think it's "rice", I consider "rice" to be a mod done to a car under the premise of performance or style that in fact does neither (ie. fart cans, non-painted body kits, huge wings on a FWD car), I do think it's in poor taste.

 

Oh come on now, don't act like you speak for all Lancer owners when you say something like that. I am sure there are plenty of Lancer owners who race, and there is nothing wrong with that.

 

Well I am sure that some morons do race their lancers but they shouldnt cause more than likley you will lose. I guess I cant say anything cause I have tried to race mine but I quit before my reputation got any worse. ha.

 

ey, if ppl wanna race their hyundai's, or their mazda's or whatever; let em' do it. if they got the power to , do it [i say]. i just wont be racing my lancer anytime near soon. setting my self up for that kind of embarassment takes quite a while of preperation. LoL. i hope to some day, have enough power to race and beat out some mustangs, but til' then, i'll keep on daydreamin bout it.

I will do whatever I want with MY car and I don't care what anyone thinks. Although I am not a fan of the evo wing on the lancer, people should do whatever they want. Keep in mind though that the wing attracts more bad attention then good so modify at your own risk. I prefer the oz rally wing instead but that is just my opinion.

 

Well those of you with turbos cant say you dont race. Why spend 4k+ and just drive to work?

 

Plenty of people with lancers race and are successful. If you think racing is all about power, you have a lot to learn.

It's more of your arrogant attitude and ignorance on forum policy that got my attention. As for your car and racing career-I could care less. It saddens me to say this, but it's your attitude and that make me shun the Evolution more and more. It's like owning a brand new Evolution with fresh dog crap smeared on the floormats.

 

I know that...people race with minivans. What im trying to say is those of you with turbo cant even say you dont race...If you dont then why waste the money on turbo for driving to work?
