Help W/ Taking Center Console Off!!
does anyone know how to remove the center console part where the shifter is at? i just wanan remove the grey piece (with the ash tray, and cig lighter) but i dont wanan take off the entire center console to do so. so is it possible and how do i do it? I DID SEARCH also but couldnt find anythign on taking this part apart
thought I'd reply to this in case anyone else found it...I know there's plenty of info for the standard, but haven't seen anything for the automatic.
Basically there are two screws at the base of the shifter that you will see once you remove the entire cupholder part of the center console (two screws inside the storage compartment at the bottom, a few clips that will pull loose by the shifter end). Once you take these screws out, there is only screw-in retaining clip on the driver's side by the gas pedal to remove, then the rest are just pressure clips (one on the passenger side, and I think one more on the driver's side). You will need to move the shifter to first gear and have the parking break as far up as it will go. Then just pull up the shifter console and you're done.
