I think all the "lancers are the best cars" people really need to open their eyes. Are lancers nice cars? For the money yeah, but they're hardly the best. I would gladly take several cars over mine because, frankly, I've grown up. I loved my car when I was 17, and I still love it today, but I'm no longer in the mood for a car that squeaks at every opportunity, makes random engine noises, needs thousands dumped into the engine to make it anything near quick, as well as just the general desire to move onto better things. I love burgers, but I don't hold them to the same candle as steak.

ok, not a big fan of the hood, but i will defend the lancer. IMO the lancer is way better than the civic. The civic looks like the front end got wedged into a guard rail. Also, i just got rid of my integra, and couldnt be happier with the lancer. So rock on lancer...oh and also, any of those cars wont be able to touch my lancer here in a month or two. Oh and the only lancer im not a fan of is the plain jane ES. The styling just isnt there.

True I think the Evo is the greatest invention of our time but if you can't foot that bill (witch is vary reasonable in my opinion since there is no real need to upgrade it) the lancer is sweet, looks good, and rides grate and lots of up grades available to take care of any speed issues it may have I plan to get an Evo when I pay off my lancer but I’m keeping the lancer and supercharging it so I can have my fun and not risk hurting the Evo.

Remember we're talking stock for stock here, saying things like "none of the other cars would stand a chance against my car now" completely side steps the issue. There are plenty of evos on this board that can spank lambos, ferraris, vipers, etc. but do you honestly think the owners of these cars wouldn't take a lambo/ferrari/viper over an evo, especially a stock evo? Look at what some of these guys have to sacrifice to make the power they're making, they have fuel problems, driveability problems and insane reliability problems. As far as modifications go, nothing can beat hondas. The SI has been out for what 6 months, and big name companies like TEIN and Skunk2 have already produced amazing track cars. While our options aren't bad compared to other cars (try finding parts for a 3 or a protege), it'll never be close to what hondas have. It's also important to compare the same year to the same year, I much prefer the look of the old (02-03) lancer than to the new one, but I like the look of the new civic compared to the new lancer.

I will agree with that the new lancers gust don't have the look of the 02-03's and the newest si looks real good ditching the hatch back was a good call I gust think for the money the lancer tops all the 02-03 model have fallen to a excellent price at auction especially in the southern states the Honda line hold it's value grate you would be hard impressed to get upside down in a civic but I don't buy new cars I work at a dealership so I got my lancer at auction for the same year/mileage Honda I would have had to pay nearly twice what I did.

Reliability and Affordability go hand in hand w/ the Lancer.
